The derivational morpheme не-, which has the highest functional activity among the negating derivational markers, is discussed in detail. The scientific analysis also focuses on the caritive prefixes без- (used as a synonym of не-), the prefixes раз-, пре- and от-, involved in the formation of verbs of the decursive-resultative and finitive modes of action (Aktionsart), as well as the negative formants of foreign origin ин-, а-, им-, и-, де-, and дис-.
