dc.description.abstractIntonation is an important linguistic tool that people utilize to convey additional grammatical, focus-marking and attitudinal meaning at the suprasegmental level of language. The present study investigates the possible role of biological sex in the perception and comprehension of different intonation contours and their function by male and female Bulgarian learners of English.
