MANIFESTATIONS OF PERSONAL ANXIETY IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT AMONG ADOLESCENTS

| dc.description.abstract | The article presents data from an empirical study, which aims to analyze manifestations of personal anxiety in a school environment in 339 adolescents between the age of 13 and 17 who study in general education and vocational schools in our country. Attached is an author's version of the "Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale", created by S. Reynolds and B. Richmond (Reynolds, Richmond, 1978), adapted for Bulgarian environment by P. Kalchev (Kalchev, 2006). The original version of the scale contains 36 statements. In the attached author's version of the scale, the semantic structure of the statements included in the original methodology has been preserved, but they have been restructured with an orientation to the school environment. The scale is dichotomous and depending on the agreement or disagreement of the person examined, a "Yes" or "No" answer is indicated. Positive answers to 28 of the statements are indicators of the manifestation of anxiety symptoms in a school environment. The reliability of the methodology was established, related to the internal consistency of the statements, indicators of the manifestations of anxiety in a school environment. The value of the coefficient Cronbach's alpha is 0.83. The obtained results prove that the school environment is a source of anxiety symptoms, manifested in the form of anxieties, social worries, physiological reactions and nervousness for a large part of modern adolescents. | |
