The understanding of the category of person as a grammatical phenomenon is implicit for linguists. The transition from the logical concept to the grammatical category of person is a process that is still debated in linguistics. The article aims to review some of the most significant works, dealing with the grammaticalization of the meaning of personality in the Bulgarian language, particularly the ones originating in the Bulgarian context. The author’s objective is to offer a personal perspective on the evolution of the grammaticalization process.
