Abstract
This article focuses on the analysis of hesitation phenomena in the spontaneous
monologue speech of Bulgarian students studying the Russian language. During
the study, a personal database of recordings was created and an analysis of the
spoken texts was carried out. Students read and retold the parable “The Master of
the Mountain.” The retellings were recorded and analyzed by PRAAT software.
Using auditory, descriptive-analytical, instrumental and statistical analysis, the exponents
of hesitation were identified. The analysis showed that markers of the
speech-generating process lead to isochrony of utterances and are closely related to
difficulties in foreign language planning, execution and cognitive processes.
