This study presents some trends in Silver Age culture: the perception of a synthesis of the arts, modernité; the pairing of the images of Apollo and Dionysus; the demonisation of entertainment and new entertainment and artistic loci (art cabaret, cabaret, cellar), the theme of death (the pairing of Eros and Thanatos; locus amoenus and locus terribilis); the Russian harlequinades, the longing images of Hellas and of Alexandria; the “Ballets russes”.
